About One Netball Tonga
Formed under the umbrella of the Australian Government’s sport for development program Team Up, One Netball Tonga builds upon the existing successful partnership between Tonga Netball Association and Netball Australia.
The One Netball Program aims to support Tongan communities to realise their full potential through netball activities, with a focus on social inclusion, gender equity and wellbeing.
Key Program activities in 2023/24 include:
- Capacity building in Outer Islands, and rural villages including governance, coaching, umpiring and event management activities
- Safe and inclusive participation opportunities focusing on women and girls, leiti and men and boys
- An inclusive corporate competition highlighting the importance of healthy lifestyles and regular physical activity
- Introduction of Walking Netball – modified netball activity with a focus on fun and inclusion
