About One Netball Samoa
Formed under the umbrella of the Australian Government’s sport for development program Team Up, One Netball Samoa is a powerful collaboration between Netball Australia and Netball Samoa which aims to increase participation, support improved health and education outcomes, and strengthen governance.
The One Netball Samoa program has a particular focus on the empowerment of women, girls and fa'afafine and promotes education and skills that help create cohesive communities and new voices on the issues of gender equity, leadership and inclusion.
Key program activities in 2021 and 2022 include:
- the creation of new netball associations on the island of Savai'i;
- providing women with decision-making roles within the sport and their communities;
- the establishment of a talent identification program;
- and ongoing investment in the quantity and quality of coaches in Samoa
