Netball Australia is thrilled to welcome two new senior members of staff to Netball HQ in Melbourne – Melonie Lowe has joined the organisation as Executive General Manger of Sport and Matt Pinkney as netball’s first Content and Corporate Affairs Director.
The recently-appointed duo bring extensive experience to their respective roles and Netball Australia CEO Marne Fechner is pleased to welcome them to the netball team.
“Mel and Matt are leaders in their field, and I’m delighted to have them join our executive leadership team. They bring such a diverse range of experiences, insight, skills and knowledge to netball, at a time when we are looking to drive a real step-change in thinking and delivery,” she said.
With 20 years of experience in corporate marketing, customer experience, event management, digital strategy and sport technology, Melonie Lowe plans to welcome and implement change with a focus on the consumer.
“It’s exciting chapter for Netball Australia and netball in Australia,” Lowe said.
“I look forward to working with the team to transform the business and strive for customer excellence.”
Pinkney joins Netball Australia from the Australian Football League (AFL) where he spent eight years overseeing AFL Media, the team that delivered an industry-leading content mix which led to mass audience growth and record-breaking numbers. Prior to his time at the AFL, Pinkney spent 23 years at News Corp.
In joining Netball Australia, Pinkney hopes to see a major increase in the engagement of content.
“I was attracted to netball for two main reasons; a clear and honourable purpose and a great culture,” Pinkney said.
“I’ve already seen how netball entertains, inspires and brings people together and I hope to work with the media team and all other parts of the business to amplify these great attributes.’’
Netball Australia is incredibly excited to welcome Melonie and Matt on board and look forward to all that they will do for netball in the future.
