Fowler was awarded her third title during a special online version of the Australian Netball Awards this evening, aired on the Netball Live Official App.
For the third year running, the West Coast Fever shooter ended the season as the league’s highest goal scorer on 979 points at 94% accuracy, scoring more than 50 points in 16 of the 17 matches she played.
Fowler was also named as the goal shooter in the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year, another accolade she has won three years in a row.
“To have won the Suncorp Super Netball Player of the Year award for the third consecutive year, it’s no longer the mere feeling of being elated, it's much more,” Fowler said.
“I'm beyond honoured and moved by this, and I'm not easily moved, pun intended, to be recognised for something I'm extremely passionate about.”
Joining Fowler in the Suncorp Super Netball Team of the Year is an impressive list of athletes who all enjoyed stellar seasons in 2020:

- Reserve shooter – Cara Koenen (Sunshine Coast Lightning)
- Reserve midcourt – Paige Hadley (NSW Swifts)
- Reserve defender – Shamera Sterling (Adelaide Thunderbirds)
Several other awards were given out during the awards show with Adelaide Thunderbirds young gun Maisie Nankivell rewarded for a breakout season, being named the rebel Rising Star, recognised for her outstanding efforts and leadership on and off the court.
Coach of the Melbourne Vixens Simone McKinnis was awarded the Joyce Brown Coach of the Year for leading her side to the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball premiership and minor premiership while spending more than 90 days away from home due to the season being played in Queensland.
Also recognised was South Australian umpire Georgina Sulley-Beales who was named the Lorne McConchie Umpire of the Year.
