To the Netball Community,
The COVID19 situation is changing rapidly which makes it challenging for us all to provide clear and consistent advice to our respective netball communities.
We all know and understand the health and wellbeing benefits of regular participation in sport, so from the outset we encourage everyone to keep active and we’ll be #hereifyouneed to help you find ways to keep your netball community moving – even if it’s in ways that we haven’t traditionally used.
COVID19 OVERVIEW
The Federal, State and Territory governments continue to make decisions to slow the spread of the coronavirus, and we understand that local councils are also making decisions with respect to the use of community infrastructure.
Advice is changing daily, and a unified national approach regarding community grassroots Netball will be difficult to achieve. We respect that in these uncertain times, there will naturally be a diversity of view about the best way to move forward and we’re all aiming to do what’s ‘right’ and most importantly ‘what’s safe’.
COVID-19 RECOMMENDED HYGINE PROTOCOLS
On that basis, Netball Australia will focus on providing netball specific updates, advice and where relevant guidance to assist the entire netball community in making decisions about their competitions, education, programs, health and wellbeing.
We will continue to support the latest Government advice, which currently outlines that non-essential mass gatherings attended by more than 500 people must be cancelled.
