Netball Australia today welcomes Adam Richardson to the role as Executive General Manager – Commercial, Suncorp Super Netball and Events.
Richardson joins Netball HQ after six years at the AFL, where he oversaw corporate revenue across AFL Media, sponsorship, venue signage rights and Marvel Stadium.
He brokered some of the largest corporate deals, including the naming rights partnership for Marvel Stadium and Telstra’s digital rights extension, and has worked collaboratively to achieve aligned outcomes with all the AFL’s largest sponsors and right holders.
Prior to joining the AFL, Richardson worked as the Melbourne Sales Director at 3AW and Magic 1278 and as Commercial Director at Crocmedia (now Sports Entertainment Network).
Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan welcomed Richardson to the organisation.
“Adam comes to Netball Australia with extensive commercial experience, but he is also acutely aware of what it takes to run a professional sporting league and other major events,” Ryan said.
“We are delighted to welcome Adam and his family to Netball Australia.”
Richardson joins Netball Australia’s executive to lead the organisation’s commercial growth and oversee the Suncorp Super Netball competition and events pillar.
“Netball is a spectacular sport with a clear and honourable purpose,” Richardson said.
“I am looking forward to collaborating with our fans, clubs, partners and stakeholders to enhance their experience with our sport.
“I believe in Kelly’s vision, and I am excited to be part of the team.”
Ryan thanked acting Executive General Manager – Commercial, Suncorp Super Netball and Events, David Lee, who will continue in his role as Head of Commercial, overseeing Netball Australia’s sales and sponsorship.
“I want to thank Dave for acting in the role for the past nine months, especially during such a challenging period for sport,” Ryan said.
“Dave has worked tirelessly to ensure the Suncorp Super Netball competition continued to run, whilst continuing to renew and generate revenue.”
