Netball Australia has re-launched its Woolworths NetSetGo program with a dynamic and refreshed look in time for 2025 registrations, which are officially open now.
Woolworths NetSetGo will unlock new levels of fun in 2025 with a fresh new identity including reinvigorated resources, stylish starter packs and the evolution of its entry ‘Net’ stage.
Woolworths NetSetGo is Australia’s leading grassroots netball program celebrating the life-long love of the sport – for kids and parents alike.
For 17 years, Woolworths NetSetGo has provided a place for youngsters to get their first taste of netball. The program is designed for children aged 5-10 to experience the joy of netball in a fun, safe, and welcoming community, with the aim to develop confident, and active kids who will grow a lifelong love of team sport.
The three-stage program – Net, Set and Go – supports kids with age-specific phases designed and delivered to suit the physical and cognitive development of children at each stage.
As the first touchpoint connecting kids to netball, the ‘Net’ stage of the program has been refreshed to better suit the needs of its participants.
Twenty seven Centres formed part of a Woolworths NetSetGo Pilot Program, implementing a modified program which allowed Netball Australia to ‘test and learn’ with a smaller sample size, gain critical feedback from parents, participants and delivery leads. This helped inform the direction of the Net Program implemented for 2025 and beyond.
‘Net’ kids will get their hands on a netball from the very start of their journey more than ever before with:
- Modified equipment for better skill development,
- Smaller groups to ensure every child has many opportunities to have fun while building core skills like passing and catching, alongside values like teamwork
- The inclusion of new mini netball games in each session to put skills to the test
Upon signing up in 2025, every NetSetGoer will receive a never-before-seen starter pack including their very own Woolworths NetSetGo training tee branded with the colours of their Suncorp Super Netball team.
The packs will also include exclusive key rings with their Suncorp Super Netball team, highlighting the connection between Woolworths NetSetGo and the world’s best netball league.
"Woolworths NetSetGo is about more than just developing players – it's about building vibrant netball communities, creating lasting memories, and inspiring a lifelong passion for the game,” said Netball Australia Executive General Manager of Netball, Megan Simpson.
“Our grassroots are the beating heart of netball across Australia, and the changes to Woolworths NetSetGo demonstrate a true reflection of netball’s impact as a source of fun, safety, inclusivity and accessibility where people can grow, connect and thrive.”
With over 50,000 participants (both girls and boys) involved in 2024 and more than 1,200 centres around the country, parents and coaches are also front of mind for the refreshed new approach in 2025.
New resources and tools have been launched specifically for parents and coaches to get more immersed in netball themselves, regardless of netball knowledge or experience.
“Netball is for everyone, and the best part about Woolworths NetSetGo is the ability to connect parents and children to netball through a fun experience, which is particularly important for those who may have had limited exposure to our wonderful sport,” Simpson said.
Woolworths Group Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Hicks echoed Simpson’s enthusiasm for what the upgrades to Woolworths NetSetGo will mean for families in 2025.
"Woolworths is a proud long-term partner of Netball Australia and the Woolworths NetSetGo program," Hicks said.
"We believe in empowering young netballers to eat healthier, feel energised and develop a lifelong passion for being active. With new resources and engaging activities, the refreshed program offers a fantastic opportunity for children and families to experience the joy of netball."
