Ahead of her 400th national league game as coach, GIANTS head coach Julie Fitzgerald strongly believes her team's best is yet to come
The win kept the GIANTS finals aspirations alive, keeping them just one game and percentage out of the top four.
โItโs been a really hard season for us,โ Fitzgerald said after the win on Sunday.
โWeโve worked very, very hard to see improvement each week.
โThatโs our focus, we want to be better again next week and the week after that.โ
Fitzgeraldโs side have won three out of their past five fixtures to resurrect their season after a horror start to the year in which they lost their first four games.
She remains confident that there is further growth left amongst her chargers.
โItโs always gratifying when we can have a good four quarter performance and itโs what weโve been working towards all year,โ she said.
โI thought we showed more improvement this week again.
โI think thereโs a great deal of improvement (left).
โWe saw signs today of how good we can be, but there were times today when we couldโve maintained that for a little bit longer.โ
The GIANTS were buoyed by the return of co-captains Jamie-Lee Price and Jo Harten on Sunday and are confident that defender Matilda McDonnell will be available for selection ahead of this weekendโs home fixture against the Adelaide Thunderbirds.
