“In some huge games this year she ran our attack like a seasoned veteran and that is a sign of the maturity she already has.

Mavs farewell Parkinson
14 August
The Melbourne Mavericks have made the decision not to offer Lauren Parkinson a contract for 2026.
The defender took to the court for the Mavs in only one SSN game after she suffered an ACL injury on the eve of the 2024 season.
Mavs General Manager Shae Bolton-Brown commented on how tough the decision was to make.
“The decision not to offer Loz a contract next year was a really difficult one for the club,” Bolton-Brown said.
“With Loz doing her knee at such an unfortunate point in the season, time really was against her in terms of when she would be able to get back on court this season. To see her gain her Mavs wings – 755 days after her last SSN game for the GIANTS– was honestly one of the proudest moments I’ve had in my time at the club so far.”
“Loz embodies all of the personal qualities we value so highly at the Mavs, and the club will certainly miss Loz’s infectious personality and humour – no matter how tough things have been for her personally.
“It’s always sad when we have to farewell members of our Mavs family - especially our inaugural Mavs – but we can’t wait to see what’s next for Loz, and know that whatever it is, she will throw her whole self into it and give it her absolute all."

“She was a game-changer for us at times in the regular season and I think it’s fair to say we missed what she could bring when key moments didn’t go our way at the business end.
“We are blessed to have two of the greatest Swifts ever in Sarah Klau and Maddy Turner in the defensive end, but this year Teigan really arrived and showed that we now have three world-class operators at the back, who can interchange really well and give us a lot of options."

“Tay’s presence on and off the court is irreplaceable, but also, we’ve seen how hard she’s worked and how much she has improved in just the two short years she’s been with us, so we have no doubt there are more big things she will achieve in her future."

“My teammates, coaches and the whole Club made me feel so welcome and it was an honour to wear the dress.
“Growing up in NSW and seeing how many past and present greats have worn a Swifts dress makes it a very special Club to be a part of and I’m really glad it’s now part of my journey too.
