Netball Australia’s Centre of Excellence provides Australia’s future Diamonds with an intensive daily training environment supported by Australia’s elite coaches and the AIS performance support staff.

The Centre of Excellence is designed to ensure that Australia’s next generation of netballers are prepared for international competition and that their transition into the Diamonds program is seamless.

Former Australian captain and current Australian Diamonds assistant coach Michelle den Dekker is head coach of the Centre of Excellence program and supported by a number of specialist and targeted assistant coaches from across Australia.

In 2014 the Netball Australia Centre of Excellence replaced the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) netball scholarship program.

Netball was one of the eight founding sports of the AIS in 1981.
