Susan Pettitt (nee Prately) had her sights on international netball from the beginning, representing Australian in the 21/U Team from 2003-2005. During that time she also led the AIS Canberra Darters (Captain 2004 and Vice-Captain 2005) being awarded club MVP both years. She joined the Sydney Swifts in 2006, taking the role of Vice-Captain for 2012 and 2013.

Petitt began her Diamonds journey in 2006, playing the Commonwealth Games (silver) and she continued to be a part of an impressive Diamonds lineup; winning the 2007 World Championships and receiving silver in the 2010 and 2018 Commonwealth Games.

With an ability to shoot from anywhere in the circle, Pettitt’s role in the 2006 Commonwealth Bank Trophy premiership was integral, becoming the first person to achieve a 100% accuracy in a Grand Final.

Pettitt received many accolades throughout her career; New Idea Favourite Diamond (2009), NSW Swift’s Members’ Player of the year (2009), Marilyn Melhuish NSW Swifts Player of the Year (2010), QBE NSW Swifts MVP (2012) and Nominated for the ANZ Championship MVP (2012).

Outside of elite netball but still on the court Pettitt runs SP Netball Clinics, running for over 15 years now it is a well-regarded coaching program provided by one of Australia’s best shooters retiring in 2018 with an average of 85%.
