One Netball Community Awards back in 2015

_DSC4606The Australia Post One Netball Community Awards are back in 2015, recognising and rewarding individuals, Clubs and Associations across Australia who go above and beyond to create and support inclusive netball communities for everyone, regardless of their background or ability.

The One Netball Community Awards are an opportunity to highlight and recognise great examples of positive change already underway across the Australian netball community.

In 2014, five Australia Post One Netball Community Awards were presented, the winners inspiring others to create and support more inclusive netball environments.

Pardana Netball Club in South Australia were recognised for their efforts to ensure ongoing growth and participation in their remote community netball club, including running mixed competitions and addressing financial barriers to participation.

Guildford Leagues Club Netball ClinicEchuca & District Netball Association in Victoria supported the creating of the ‘Rockettes’ netball team, where players with an intellectual disability compete in their junior competition, supported by players, coaches, umpires and families within the Association.

Manly Warringah Netball Association in New South Wales were recognised for their All Ability Netball Program that provides players with an intellectual disability with the opportunity to play in a weekly competition that is supported by volunteers from across the Association.

Guilford Leagues Knights Netball Club in New South Wales were awarded for actions taken to seek and support greater involvements of their local Muslim community within their netball club.

Leanne Eades from Katanning Western Australia was recognised for her contribution to the growth of the All Stars Netball Club and Grassroots Netball Program which supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander player, their families and the community to get involved with netball.

Nominations for the 2015 awards are open to a Netball Club, Association, or an individual who is actively making positive change and inspiring others to create welcoming and more inclusive netball communities.Manly Warringah Netball Association Clinic

The winners will receive a prize pack valued at over $1000, including Australia Post Load&Go cards, a visit from an Australia Post One Netball Ambassador and a signed 2015 Australian Diamonds Netball World Cup team ball.

Nominations open on the One Netball website on Tuesday 12 May until Sunday 5 July, with winners to be announced on Monday 20 July 2015.
