For many Australian kids, netball is their first proper taste of team sport.

In a lot of ways, Netball is a sporting pioneer. It is Australia’s most popular team sport for girls. It’s played by kids all over Australia, from Hobart to Alice Springs, and pretty much everywhere in between. All those PE lessons spent fighting for the GA bib, or running around a schoolyard court. Those are the sport’s sticky, concrete roots. Where future Diamonds are made.

The next generation of netballers are out there right now, and helping them get fit, make friends and have fun is a big part of Netball Australia’s national strategy.

We want to support all kids to play netball, regardless of age, gender, background or ability. We’re creating educational resources, training more community coaches, and giving teachers the tools they need to run awesome netball programs. That’s why we started the Teacher Ambassador Program, a national program celebrating and supporting teachers to get the most out of netball for their students. Both in the classroom and out on the court..
