Four Australian Diamonds squad members have re-signed with their clubs for the 2017 National Netball League, on the final day of the official contract period.
Sharp shooter Nat Medhurst will play her fourth season in Perth with the West Coast Fever and says she is looking forward to the challenge of 2017.
“The beginning of the new National Netball League and the introduction of some fresh faces gives the Club an excellent opportunity to build on the strong foundation we’ve laid in recent seasons,” Medhurst said.
Dual Queensland Premiership players Gabi Simpson, Gretel Tippett and Caitlyn Nevins have all also put pen to paper with the Queensland Firebirds for the 2017 season.
“I’ve had so many wonderful seasons playing with the Firebirds and I couldn’t be happier to pull on the purple dress again,” Nevins said.
“The Firebirds for me is like a warm hug. I’ve been so privileged to be part of the growing culture over the past four years and I feel the responsibility to continue that going forward,” Simpson said.
“To be able to keep that culture going without Geitzy and Clare will be a challenge, but is something I’m really excited about and can’t wait to be part of,” Tippett said.
