National Netball Day celebrates campaign

Square - NND promotion2National Netball Day on Saturday 4 June is a key fundraising day for the Netball Foundation’s Confident Girls campaign.

National Netball Day is such a great day to fundraise for Confident Girls as it celebrates the growth of netball in the community.

If you can’t hold an event on that day, the Netball Foundation is asking you to `Give Us a Day’ in the lead-up to National Netball Day and contribute to the quest of raising $250,000 this year.

Whether as an individual, or workplace, school, netball club or association – if you’re passionate about netball and wanting to help disadvantaged girls be the best they can be, get involved. It’s easy to register an event and you will make a difference.

There’s plenty you can do. In 2015, some of the Confident Girls fundraising events included sausage sizzles, bake sales, a parents versus kid’s netball match and a `dance-a-thon’.

The possibilities are endless with your imagination. There’s a lot of downloadable resources on the Confident Girls website and in the fundraiser starter kit.

Ever dollar received by Confident Girls goes towards funding netball programs, equipment and coaching in disadvantaged communities across Australia through Inclusion NetSetGO and community programs.

If you register your event before National Netball Day you go into the draw to win some great prizes – including signed Australian Diamonds merchandise, tickets to this year’s International Test Series and a visit from Australian Diamonds players.

Since launching in March 2015, the Netball Foundation has already raised more than $60,000 towards giving every girl a chance to have fun, make friends and be healthy, confident and resilient young women.

The Netball Foundation has a partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) to help raise funds, enabling donations of $2 or more to be fully tax deductible.

ASF Patrick Walker said the foundation is proud to support this fantastic community fundraising project.
