Snags for National Netball Day

Murwillumbah Netball Association will rally together on National Netball Day with a sausage sizzle and jumping castle raising funds for Confident Girls.

Just south of the Queensland and New South Wales border the small but mighty association will come together for a fun day of all things netball.

National Netball Day on June 4th aims to celebrate of the growth of netball within the community by raising funds for the Netball Foundation’s Confident Girls campaign.

When tabled at their committee meeting, the association decided it was a great idea to celebrate National Netball Day and provided the perfect opportunity to hold a Confident Girls fundraiser.

Some of the association executives and members will then travel north to the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre to watch the Queensland Firebirds take on the Melbourne Vixens in the Confident Girls fundraising match of the ANZ Championship.

Although they are a small association, Secretary Kerrie McConnell says that they are always ready to get behind celebrating sport.

“…anything that brings awareness to why sport matters has our support,” McConnell says.

If you register your event before National Netball Day you go into the draw to win some great prizes – including signed Australian Diamonds merchandise, tickets to this year’s International Test Series and a visit from Diamonds’ athletes.
