Bio

Entering the ANZ Championship with a bang in 2010, Layton cemented her spot in the Adelaide Thunderbirds’ starting seven, winning the league’s Best Young Player award and her first premiership. She added another title in 2013 before moving to the Swifts and this year was named goal keeper in the Foxtel All-Star Team for the first time. Layton made her international debut against New Zealand in Auckland in June 2011 and was part of the Diamonds team that won the Netball World Cup later that year. The hard-working defender returned to the green and gold in 2013 after missing the 2012 international series due to injury. She has earned selection for her second Netball World Cup on the back of an outstanding season in the ANZ Championship with the NSW Swifts where she was the No.1 defender in the competition and named the ANZ Championship Finals Series Most Valuable Player.
