About

Rebecca Sanders was a relative latecomer to international netball, not making her Test debut until a month shy of her 28th birthday on Australia’s 1998 Caribbean tour.

Sanders was a member of the Australian team that won the inaugural Commonwealth Games Gold Medal in 1998 and the triumphant 1999 Netball World Cup team.

The midcourter added another gold medal to her collection at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

A two-time Commonwealth Bank Trophy premiership player for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Sanders was a deceptive centre court player who used her fitness, strength and speed to out-manoeuvre opponents.
