Lyn Davey (nee Moroney) was captain of Australia’s team for the 1967 Netball World Cup played in Perth, the first time the tournament was played down under.
Davey was first named in an Australian `team’ after the 1963 national championships and was part of the side that toured New Zealand in 1966 for a series of matches.
While she was a close-checking goal keeper – tall for her era – in the 1967 world championships Davey actually played at wing defence.
Post her playing career, Davey was involved in netball as a coach, selector, manager and administrator in South Australia for many years.
She is a life member of Adelaide state league side Garville Netball Club and in 2012 was named in Netball South Australia’s Team of the Century.
