About

Demelza Fellowes enjoyed a career renaissance eight years after she thought she had played her last Test.

Having made her international debut in 2004 and playing eight Tests over the next 12 months, Fellowes did not re-appear in the green and gold until the hard-working defender was recalled to the Australian Diamonds team for the 2013 Test Series against Malawi.

Fellowes was also co-captain of the Australian FAST5 Flyers for the 2013 FAST5 Netball World Series where the team collected a silver medal.

Her comeback to international level was remarkable considering in 2010 she had considered retiring from the sport all together.

Fellowes is also among a select group of athletes that has played for teams in both Australia’s and New Zealand’s domestic competitions before the formation of the ANZ Championship.

Fellowes played 72 matches in the ANZ Championship for the Mainland Tactix, Queensland Firebirds, Melbourne Vixens and the Southern Steel before announcing her retirement at the end of 2015.
