About

Becky Douglas holds the coveted honour of being named the first captain of an Australian netball team.

She led Australia in the first ever international match played – against New Zealand in Melbourne in August, 1938.

The Australians won 40-22 and the first chapter of a storied trans-Tasman rivalry was written. It was to be the only time Douglas represented her country in a Test match.
