Netball to feature at regional sport conference

Anne Marie01LNetball Australia’s commitment to encouraging growth in the sport in regional communities will be among the topics at a Sport in Regional Australia Conference next month.

Netball Australia’s Head of Community Strategy and Netball Development Anne-Marie Phippard, pictured, is one of two keynote speakers addressing the Conference, being held in the Victorian regional city of Bendigo between 9-10 November.

Phippard will speak on the topic of athlete and coach development and how Netball Australia is implementing strategies to address the challenges of engaging in regional and rural communities.

Presented by La Trobe University, the Sport in Regional Australia Conference is the only sports conference targeted to the development of sport in regional and rural communities.

The two-day program aims to specifically target issues of critical importance to sport in regional Australia. Former AFL CEO Andrew Demetriou is the Conference’s other keynote speaker.
