You might have heard of the Netball Foundation.
It aims to raise money to help girls achieve their full potential through netball. The Netball Foundation has launched its online campaign – Confident Girls – to give those who can least afford it, the chance to play netball too.
An initiative of the Netball Foundation in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation, Confident Girls is shooting for $100,000 to reach up to 5000 girls who don’t yet know the joy of netball.
Donations will fund netball programs, equipment and coaching in disadvantaged communities across Australia. Importantly, it will give more girls the chance to:
- Build confidence both on and off the court;
- Be fit, be healthy, be strong;
- Make friends and have fun.
We’re calling on you – Australia’s netball community – to help us reach our goal.

Netball Australia president Noeleen Dix said she’s proud of the Confident Girls campaign.
“Throughout my life I have experienced the immeasurable benefits of netball; as a player, administrator, mother, and spectator,” Dix said.
“I love the game – not just for the opportunities it provided me as an athlete lucky enough to represent my country, but in the tremendous life skills that I netball giving girls on a daily basis.
“Confidence, an understanding of the importance of teamwork, leadership skills and the habits of a healthy lifestyle – who wouldn’t want to give every Australian girl those opportunities? If you can, give those girls who might not otherwise have the chance, the gift of confidence.”
There are some great incentives for fundraisers. Imagine tossing the coin at the Netball World Cup Sydney 2015 or meeting your favourite Diamond or attending the Australian Netball Awards.
You can also make a donation by texting NETBALL to 0477 333 999.
