Five umpires earn place on Netball World Cup panel

2014 Round 10 ANZ Championship game Thunderbirds v FeverFive Australian umpires will officiate at the Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015.

The International Netball Federation has announced the panel that will take charge of the matches over the 10-day tournament, being played from August 7-16 at Allphones Arena and Netball Central in Sydney.

Sharon Kelly, Michelle Phippard (both pictured right), Rachael Ayre, Paula Ferguson and Josh Bowring have been named in the 17-umpire panel. The Netball World Cup umpires come from a range of nations including Australia, New Zealand, England, Jamaica, South Africa and Trinidad and Tobago.

The INF has congratulated the umpires selected to be part of the NWC2015, saying it was a “significant achievement” in their careers.

The INF has also announced the umpire appointment panel, which will be chaired by New South Wales’ Maureen Boyle, and the Jury of Appeal.
