If you’re thinking about heading to Glasgow this year to support the Australian Diamonds in the quest for Commonwealth Games gold, then here’s some great news.
Games organisers have announced about 4000 extra tickets are now on sale for the netball Finals – which includes the medal play-off matches – at their new location, the SSE Hydro.
The medal play-off games will take place on the last day of competition at the Games on Sunday, 3 August and tickets are available by visiting the Glasgow 2014 Ticketing website www.tickets.glasgow2014.com
If you’ve already got tickets in anticipation of watching the Diamonds try and win gold for the first time since 2002, don’t worry. Officials have reassigned your seats in the new venue.
International Netball Federation Chief Executive Officer Clare Briegal said it’s fantastic that thousands more fans can experience world-class netball first-hand in a superb venue.
“The Commonwealth Games is netball’s premier global event in 2014 and I look forward to our athletes, officials and thousands of fans enjoying a feast of our sport at its best in Glasgow,” she said.
Glasgow 2014 Chief Executive Officer David Grevemberg said limited tickets are still available for both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
Australia’s opening match of the Commonwealth Games is against Wales on Thursday, 24 July.
