England names strong squad for Test Series

2014ANZC_GF_MVvQF_DC1452LiFollowing a rigorous selection weekend England Netball has announced its squads for next month’s tour to Australia and New Zealand and the subsequent FAST5 tournament being played in Auckland.

Coach Anna Mayes is bringing her team to Australia seeking to produce more stunning performances like they did during the pool match of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow when the Diamonds triumphed by one goal in a thriller.

The team features names familiar to Australian netball fans through the ANZ Championship, including Melbourne Vixens star Geva Mentor, NSW Swifts recruit Jade Clarke – who will captain the side – Adelaide Thunderbirds signing Eboni Beckford-Chambers, Ama Agbeze and shooter Jo Harten.

The Diamonds first Test against England in the Real Insurance International Test Series is in the regional Victorian city of Bendigo on 19 October, followed by Canberra on 22 October.

England then heads across the Tasman for two Tests against New Zealand and will stay on for the FAST5 Netball World Series in Auckland over the weekend of November 8-9.

England’s squad for the FAST5 Netball World Series is: Jade Clarke (captain), Ama Agbeze, Rosie Allison, Sara Bayman, Eboni Beckford-Chambers, Sam Cook, Kadeen Corbin, Rachel Dunn, Serena Guthrie, Jo Harten.
