THIS Father’s Day, daughters are encouraged to download a digital Father’s Day card to thank a netball dad for their ongoing support.
The Netball Dads campaign has been launched by the Netball Foundation in partnership with the Australian Sports Foundation to recognise and celebrate the role that dads play in our sport.
The campaign aims to raise $25,000 to help up to 500 disadvantaged girls play netball, to encourage teamwork, leadership and health and fitness.
“Dad taught me determination and goal setting. He is a deadest legend,” Australian Diamond Sharni Layton said.
The Netball Foundation recognises that all families are different and uses ‘dads” in the broadest sense – a mentor figure that supports netball.
Netball Dads are encouraged to unite and share their daughter’s love for netball with those who do not yet know the joy of the sport.
Daughters can also challenge their Dad to a school holiday shoot off to raise funds for the #NetballDads campaign.
Netball Dads are also encouraged to share their personal netball story on social media to go into the draw to win some dad-daughter experiences such as tickets to the 2015 Netball Test Series in Melbourne and Perth and the opportunity to meet a Diamond.
