Netball Australia has announced a new three-year deal with ASICS, one of the world’s leading footwear companies.
The renewed deal will see ASICS continue as the official footwear supplier to the Australian Diamonds, Australia’s 21/U squad and Australia’s elite umpires through to the end of 2016.
Netball Australia’s Head of Commercial Matthew Roberts said that having ASICS’ continued support for the sport’s elite athletes was a fantastic result.
“ASICS is a long-time supporter and Netball Australia is thrilled that ASICS continues to support the No.1 women’s sport in Australia,” Roberts said.
ASICS Oceania Senior Marketing Manager Sam Chew said the company has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with netball and is excited to see that continue to evolve.
“Netball is a proudly celebrated sport in Australia and ASICS is pleased to be continuing our partnership with Netball Australia,” Chew said.
“This joint venture will enable ASICS to showcase our leadership in the innovation and design of netball specific footwear to enhance team performance leading into the 2015 Netball World Cup.”
Netball Australia Chief Executive Officer Kate Palmer said the new deal would mean ASICS has been involved with the sport in Australia for almost two decades.
“ASICS’ support of the Australian Diamonds will ensure our athletes continue to shine on court,” Palmer said.
ASICS has also announced a new three-year deal to continue as the official footwear supplier to all 10 teams in the ANZ Championship, the world’s best netball league.
