There’s less than a month to go before the 2014 ANZ Championship kicks off but the action is starting to heat up with several Australian teams getting in valuable practice ahead of next week’s `Summer Shootout’, the official Pre-Season event.
Melbourne’s State Netball Hockey Centre is hosting all 10 ANZ Championship teams in the `Summer Shootout’ over the weekend of 15-16 February, with 30 matches to be played over the two days.

Some lucky fans around the country will also get an early look at how their favourite team is shaping up this weekend.
On Saturday the Melbourne Vixens and New Zealand side the Northern Mystics head to Tasmania for a pre-season hit-out at the Launceston Silverdome.
The two sides are being hosted by Netball Tasmania and the Tasmanian State Government and is the first time that two ANZ Championship teams have played a match in the island state.
On Sunday, the Queensland Firebirds are hosting the NSW Swifts in a practice game at Ormiston College, located in a southern suburb of Brisbane.
Such is the interest in watching these two rivals face off against each other, tickets sold out within a day of going on sale last month.
The match starts at 12noon, local time, but Queensland’s three underage state sides will be playing in curtain raisers starting from 8am.
Also on Sunday West Coast Fever will have its traditional pre-season hit-out against a Netball WA President’s 12 at Perth’s Challenge Stadium – where they will wear their new playing dress for the first time.
Tickets can be purchased at the door at $10 for adults and $5 for children – but entry is free if you are a Fever member.
Doors open at 11am with the match to begin at 12.18pm. As a special treat for Fever fans, all the players will be signing autographs after the match.
Tickets to almost all regular season matches in Australia involving defending champions the Adelaide Thunderbirds, Firebirds, Vixens and Swifts are now on sale.
Tickets to all Fever home matches will be available from Wednesday 12 February.
