The four invitees will provide additional support to the 18-player squad for the three match play trials being held ahead of the selection of the Australian Commonwealth Games netball team next Wednesday afternoon.
Messer, McMeniman and Simmons will join Queensland Firebirds teammates Laura Geitz, Kim Ravaillion and Gabi Simpson in Canberra while the ANZ Championship league leading Melbourne Vixens will have six representatives at the camp with Moloney’s inclusion as an invitee.
Australian coach Lisa Alexander said the four athletes are excited to be involved.
“It’s nice recognition of their current form,” Alexander said.
“The four invitees will support the Diamonds squad at next week’s camp, providing additional numbers for the match play trials as we carefully manage the players’ workloads during the selection process.”
