The Australian Diamonds will travel to Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide and Sydney as part of their International Test Series calendar for 2017.
Brisbane and Canberra will host the Australian-leg of the Netball Quad Series, with Adelaide and Sydney to showcase the Constellation Cup.
Queenslanders can enjoy a double header at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on August 26, with the Diamonds to host the England Roses and the New Zealand Silver Ferns to face-off with the South African Proteas.
“We look forward to hosting the opening double-header fixture 2017 Netball Quad Series in Brisbane in August and welcoming players and fans from around the world,” Minister for Tourism, Major Events and the Commonwealth Games Kate Jones said.
The Diamonds will then do battle with the Proteas at AIS Arena in Canberra on August 30, before travelling to Auckland and Invercargill to wrap the 2017 Netball Quad Series against New Zealand.
“It’s fantastic to see the Diamonds returning to the nation’s capital after their last appearance back in 2014,” ACT Government Chief Minister Andrew Barr said.
The Constellation Cup tour will begin in Auckland, then move to Christchurch before coming to Adelaide’s Titanium Security Arena on October 11.
“Australia v New Zealand is one of the world’s great sporting rivalries and we are all looking forward to the clash in Adelaide ahead of next year’s Commonwealth Games,” South Australian Tourism and Sports Minister Leon Bignell said.
The Diamonds’ last international Test for 2017 and Constellation Cup decider will then be played at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on October 14.
Coach Lisa Alexander is excited to get the series’ underway, as preparations intensify for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
“With just three international tours between now and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, every quarter played of every game will play its part in our preparations,” Alexander said.
“We are clear on our goal to win the Gold Medal, so will ensure we put the hard work in now.”
