The Australian Netball Awards provide an opportunity to celebrate a monumental year in Australian netball. Stay tuned for live updates from the Awards.

2015 saw the Australian Netball Diamonds contest 12 games in five cities, with 736 goals scored and 507 goals conceded. 16 players wore the coveted gold dress. We lifted the Netball World Cup and Constellation Cup trophies in front of home crowds. The ANZ Championship Grand Final between Mission Queensland Firebirds and NSW Swifts went down to the wire.

10:38pm – Award presentation – Liz Ellis Diamond

It’s time for the prestigious Liz Ellis Diamond. This award recognises the player who receives the most votes for outstanding achievements in both the international arena and the ANZ Championship each year.

Netball legend and Australian Netball Hall of Fame member Liz Ellis presents the award to Caitlin Bassett.

10:28pm – Special presentation – Service Award

Netball Australia President Noeleen Dix presents Netball Australia’s Service Award to Pam Smith.

Pam Smith has been a strong contributor some of the most significant moments of our sport.

10:24pm – Award presentation – Australian International Player of the Year – announced as Caitlin Bassett

Presented by Lisa Alexander

Shooter Caitlin Bassett has represented Australia in the gold medal winning 2011 and 2015 Netball World Cup. She is the highest capped Western Australian netballer and became the first ANZ Championship player to shoot 600 goals in a season.

10:09pm – Tribute to our Retired Internationals

2015 saw Julie Corletto, Kimberlee Green and Bec Bulley hang up their gold dresses, and Sharon Kelly put away her whistle. The Australian Netball Awards pay tribute to these four women who have contributed to our sport.

9:22pm – Special presentation – inductee into Australian Netball Hall of Fame

Marcia Ella-Duncan AM  is officially inducted into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame. She was the first indigenous Australian to represent our country in netball, with 18 test caps to her name.

9:03pm – Special presentation – inductee into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame

Norma Plummer AM is officially inducted into the Australian Netball Hall of Fame. The former Australian coach has been a key player in some of our sport’s great moments.

9.00pm – Liz Ellis Diamond contender

Speedy centre Kim Ravaillion is introduced as a contender for the 2015 Liz Ellis Diamond. Who will take it out?

8:50pm Award presentation – Joyce Brown Coach of the Year – announced as Lisa Alexander

Australian Diamonds coach Lisa Alexander has coached our team to the Commonwealth Games, Netball World Cup and Constellation Cup in 2015.

Diamonds captain Laura Geitz is introduced as a contender for the 2015 Liz Ellis Diamond. Who will take it out?

7:51pm Award presentation – AIS ANZ Championship Coach of the Year – announced as Roselee Jenckee

Presented by Simon Hollingsworth, CEO of the Australian Sports Commission.

Rose Jenckee lead the Firebirds to a 13-game winning streak and a historic treble of trophies – the ANZ Championship title, the Australian Conference crown and the Challenge Trophy.

7:48pm Award presentation – Australian ANZ Championship Umpire of the Year – announced as Sharon Kelly

Presented by Laura Geitz.

Sharon Kelly began umpiring at the age of 12. She hung up her whistle at the end of the Netball World Cup 2015.

7:45pm – Liz Ellis Diamond contender

Defender Sharni Layton is introduced as a contender for the 2015 Liz Ellis Diamond. Who will take it out?

7:42pm Award Presentation – Australian ANZ Championship Player of the Year – announced as Sharni Layton.

Presented by Amanda Heath-Ogden, General Manager ANZ (NSW/ACT).

Sharni was the top ranked player in the ANZ Championship for intercepts, deflections, gains and defensive rebounds. She was named in the All Star Team and the ANZ Championship Finals Series MVP.
